Connecting with mIRC to the Adoption Triad Outreach These instructions are for mIRC version 5.82 Follow the directions on the site. When the download is complete, double click you mIRC icon. The MIRC OPTION box appears
Click on the ADD
button on the upper right of the screen Type the following. Above is an example of what should be in the boxes. Description: type ADOPTION
TRIAD OUTREACH
Click Ok Your options box, should look like this: If it doesn't, use the drop down arrows and make the changes that are necessary. IRC SERVER: Use the arrow on the box and go down to Starchat and highlight and click the box below type in: Adoption Triad Outreach
Nick name: Full name: You can place your name there but anyone on the internet or in chat can easily find it. Email address: Is the same, you may use your email addy but it will be accessible to all Nickname: Type in your nik there that you will use while you are in chat Alternative: Is an alternate nik you can use but we would prefer you to retype you nik here. If you do not want to be contacted while in a chat room from someone outside of the chat room then click the box Invisible at the bottom of the box. If you are not invisible other chatters on mIRC may contact you. Click on CONNECT TO IRC SERVER button MIRC CHANNEL FOLDERS will appear
Click the add button, the mIRC Add Channel box will pop up.
: In the channel, you would type #adoption. If you don't have your nick registered, leave the password blank. The Description should be Adoption Triad Outreach. click ok. Adoption is the main chat room the other 5 are listed below #adoption-Adoptee , #adoption-Adoptive Family , #adoption-BirthFamily , #adoption-FosterFamily , #adoption-Siblings , #adoption-university When all the rooms are added click on the room you would like to chat in
Then click join. You will be connected to the main chat page...
