Adoption Records: Closed. Year Closed: 1938 
Degree of Availability: Court records are closed upon being finalized and a Court Order is required to release any information from them.
 All agencies will release non-identifying information to an adult adoptee. 
Birth parents are not entitled to any non-identifying information. 
Age of Majority: 18 years old however, must be 21 to receive non-identifying information

Department of Motor Vehicles: 
Must be 16 years old to get a driver's license. 
Transcripts are $5.00. You must have the driver's full name and driver's license #. 
Payment must be in the form of a money order or cashier's check made out to the
 "North Carolina Department of Transportation".
