Nick Registration

 

Once connected to our chat room, you should register you nick name.  Here is the process for registration and activation of your nick.

 

  1. In place of the Word "GUEST" on the gateway chat, type in your user name or nick name you will be using in the chat room.  If you are using mIRC or any other program to connect to the room, please enter the room with the nick name you wish to use there.

  2. Once you are connected, in the bar that you would type messages to send to the room, type in the following command.

    (Where I say EmailAddy or Password, replace those words with your email address or password.)

    1. /ns register youremailaddy your password

    2. (example: /ns register trina@worldnet.net pamper

    3. YOU MUST USE YOUR REAL EMAIL ADDRESS PROVIDED BY YOUR SERVER.

    4. No WEB BASED EMAIL ADDRESS'S ARE ALLOWED.

  1. Then click the enter key on your keyboard.
  2. Your activation code will be emailed to you immediately. Go check your email.
  3. While still in the chat room, place the following code with your activation number that starchat sent to you.

    Replace the words "YourCode", with the actual code.

    1. /ns activate YourCode
    2. Example: /ns activate 505560450
  4. After you hit enter on your keyboard, your nick will have been registered and activated.
  5. Now you need to identify yourself to the server. The code for that is as follows.
  6. Replace the words, "Yourpassword" with your actual password.

.msg nickserv id yourpassword

Example: .msg nickserv id pamper

There is a period in front of msg.

Each time you enter the room, you will have to identify yourself to the server.  If you are using mirc, this can be done automatically by doing the following.

 

While in mIRC, click on:

File

Options

IRC

PERFORM

Put a check mark in the box next to where it says, "On connect, perform these commands".

In the box below that, type this: .msg nickserv id yourpassword

where it says yourpassword, replace that with your actual password.
